Ranking-usually considered to be a top 30 listing in a search engine for a query on a specific keyword related to the site.

HTML is an acronym for Hypertext Markup Language. HTML is a coding language, made up of text and tags that which tell the browser how to format a page on the internet.

META Tags?- META Tags are bits of HTML Code that are placed in a web sites Head section but not visible to the visitor when viewing a web page on the internet.

  • What do they do? META Tags are the traffic signals or road signs if you will, that the Search Engines use to direct traffic on the internet. META Tags are read by the search engines. (Although not all META tags are read by all search engines) They give the search engine information about what is contained in a web site. Where would our roads, highways and freeways be with out signs and traffic signals?
  • Why are META Tags important? A search engines job is to take you to the information you are looking for. When you go to a search engine and are looking for a product service or information on a particular topic what do you do? Most people who are looking to access information or locate information on a particular subject go first to the search box of their favorite search engine. In this box they type in a word or phrase that they believe will return web sites that contain the information they are looking for. If the search engine has done it's job properly you will only see a list of web sites that contain the information you are looking to find.
Indexing-This is the process a search engine or directory goes through to determine the placement of a web site in their data base. The proper placement is crucial to maximum internet traffic to a site.

Submission-notifying the search engines and directories that your web site exists, giving them the exact url of the site, title, description and the category it should be listed under. We submit all information manually not via a software program or robot. Manual submission insures that your site is submitted to the proper category with the correct information. Robot submission will not guarantee that the site is placed in the proper category and can even hinder the optimum placement of a site. We submit all sites following the criteria set by each individual search engine to ensure optimum placement of your site.

URL-this is the exact address where a given site may be accessed on the internet.

Keyword or Phrase-Words that internet users type in to a search box to try and find what they are looking for and words that describe what you offer on your site and internet users will type in to find you!
